We are looking for candidates at both the Analyst and Senior Analyst level. The below information describes the Analyst level role, but your application will also be considered for the Senior Analyst role. Job descriptions for both levels are attached. We have an exciting opportunity for Analysts to join our Commercial Performance team, where you will focus on influencing BA’s Commercial strategy. The role offers a challenging and fast-paced environment with significant exposure to high-level decision makers and the ability to influence and shape strategy across various Commercial functions including: Sales, Revenue Management and Distribution. You will ensure senior management make informed decisions based on data and analysis and your insights and recommendations will help shape and drive the strategy at BA. Within our team, there is the opportunity to : Play an integral role in large scale change programmes shaping our distribution and sales strategies for the future while supporting the current £10bn revenue plan Analyse performance, spot trends and provide insightful recommendations that drive action Work across BA and partner airlines, including Iberia and American Airlines to influence and monitor joint strategies Main Responsibilities: Working in a variety of areas, where you could be providing insight on the success of our commercial strategies, analysing the performance of our most important customers or travel agents or helping to set targets. Analysing revenue performance, highlighting relevant issues and providing recommendations outlining appropriate action to be taken (e.g. promotional activity, changes to strategy or price changes). You’ll highlight issues and opportunities, leading to actions that optimise revenue and cost across our channels and help deliver revenue targets. Influence strategic decision making by maintaining strong stakeholder relationships and challenging their approaches through insight. Tools and data we use: We use Excel modelling, Teradata SQL, Python and SAS for data analysis, and Tableau for analysis and visualisation. We would train you up on all of these if required, but look for you to have strong Excel skills already Our data covers most aspects of BA business available on databases, for example flights information, commercial results, market share, schedules, margins on ancillary revenues, network plans We encourage our analysts to explore new tools and techniques for data analysis and visualisation Who we’re looking for: Strong analytical background and able to demonstrate evidence of delivering insights through analysis You enjoy solving problems that deliver commercial value and you are able to deliver analytical projects in a fast-paced environment You are curious and able to make full use of your commercial acumen to think through implications and ask bigger picture questions Analytical skills; including data manipulation, identifying simple and complex trends, and delivering clear visual representations of data Able to influence stakeholders and present data in a compelling and actionable way Excellent interpersonal skills and able to establish productive relationships quickly Ability to work collaboratively, across teams to build and share knowledge A desire to explore and improve commercial acumen At BA we value analysis and the benefit it can bring to driving our business strategy forward.
