Sagefund is a digital asset management solution that offers our users the opportunity to invest in ethical and sustainable ETFs. We use the latest evidence in portfolio economics to generate a 7%-9% average return on investment. Moreover, given that the world of finance is so plagued with jargon and confusing numbers, and make use of the latest evidence in consumer psychology to minimise complexity for our users, and ensure they have a clear picture of their investments and retirement.

Digital asset management is expected to show an annual growth rate of 41.9% (CAGR 2019-2023) resulting in €31164 million assets under management by 2023 (Statista, Germany). We aim to capitalise a large portion of this growth by providing a state-of-the-art algorithmic portfolio management solution with a flawless user experience. This is especially so, given that the current robo-advisors in Germany and Europe lack the technological sophistication and levels of adoption seen by their American counterparts.

At present, customers are becoming increasingly distrustful of banks and traditional wealth management solutions to provide high returns while keeping management fees at a minimum. Study after study has shown that actively managed funds underperform relative to passively managed investments, while also being much higher in cost. Moreover, due to extremely low interest rates and the lack of capital-based retirement systems in Europe (that invest in the stock market), individuals are finding it increasingly difficult to grow their money. Because of this, it is predicted that 1 and 5 Germans will retire poor.

This outcome can be prevented by investing people’s savings in stock ETFs - which have historically offered a growth of 7% to 9% per year (on average). Currently, however, most customers are not aware that there is a relatively safe and cost-effective solution to diversify their money across global markets and benefitting from increases of productivity and innovation. We envisage Sagefund as playing a role in solving this problem.

We are a team of two co-founders looking for a technical co-founder to help build the technology behind Sagefund.
