We have partnered with pioneering LegalTech. In 2017 we invested in Legal Sifter Inc. and have brought their artificial intelligence solution to the UK, which reads contracts and provides legal advice without clients having to speak to a lawyer if they don't want to.
This is an unique opportunity to join an innovative, major UK law firm to provide project management across our FutureLaw programme, working alongside other innovation professionals who are reinventing how legal work is done to reflect rapidly changing market needs.
This permanent role is based from the Bristol office with travel required to other UK national offices. We will also consider some home working arrangements.
Reporting to the Head of Innovation, the main purpose of this role is:
To project manage the FutureLaw Programme and ensure effective delivery of our agreed activities.
To project manage specific FutureLaw solutions, which will include regular client contact, process coordination & refinement, and fee/scope management, management/coordination of other programme management office resources.
To adopt design thinking as a strategy and delivery model and agile techniques to support the discovery and definition of client need, the development of ideas and the implementation of prototypes and solutions for our clients.
To ensure the effective use of resources to manage the programme and specific solutions to budget.
To facilitate internal and client workshops and training sessions relating to existing and prospective FutureLaw solutions; map processes and pain points, develop specifications and design solutions involving people, process and pioneering technology.
To manage continuous improvement of FutureLaw solutions, gathering learnings, analysis & know how, refining process and implementing change to ensure that benefits are realised.
To provide project management training needs as appropriate.
To build and manage relationships with a number of external service providers, including LegalTech providers, ensuring the effective management of shared dependencies on delivery.
To think strategically and to troubleshoot detail where needed.
To pay due attention to detail and adopt an approach that ensures that our internal team brand is highly regarded.
To ensure FutureLaw roles and responsibilities are established, that tasks are identified, allocated, deadlines agreed and followed up so the FutureLaw Programme and specific solutions are successfully delivered to time, cost and quality.
To create and maintain the stakeholder plan and makes sure that communication needs of stakeholders are identified and met.
To liaise with and engage project managers, legal project managers, business analysts and other professionals across our business.
To set up and maintain and manage the project plans, and undertake resource analysis, planning and on-going management.
To create and maintain risk and issues logs and make sure all documentation is properly managed following TLT best practice.
To arrange programme meetings, ensuring that each has an agenda, any pre-reading is circulated beforehand and actions promptly circulated and dealt with following the meeting.
To communicate regularly and effectively to all those involved in the programme using various communication techniques and communicating to all levels of TLT.
The Ideal Candidate
Ideally, you will demonstrate the following skills and experience:
End to end experience of a variety of different projects involving technology, business and process improvements within a corporate or professional services environment, although specific experience within legal is not essential.
Experience of significant change programmes.
Sound experience in interacting, working and communicating directly with people at all levels of the organisation.
Demonstrated experience of various project management methodologies including waterfall, SCRUM and Agile and knowledge of Team Foundation server would be an advantage.
Strong analytical and project management skills including a thorough understanding of how to interpret the client's business needs and translate them into business/operational requirements.
Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
Experience of design thinking. An agile practitioner.
Ability to proactively suggest areas for improvement our new ideas and readily share knowledge. Think creatively for solutions to issues and problems.
Ability to identify and manage critical issues.
An understanding that the FutureLaw Programme and the solutions within it are not projects with defined end dates, but continuous client facing activities which require effective ongoing management, improvement and change.
Flexibility and motivated by ongoing change.
You will easily demonstrate the ability to deliver informative, well-organized presentations and project updates.
