This role sits within the UK Business Systems team. The team is responsible for the management, development and delivery of business process and technical change to Claranet’s key business systems and platforms.
The Claranet UK business systems include a combination of in house Claranet developed platforms and SAAS solutions covering the following business process (but not limited to): Configure Price Quote (CPQ), Contract Management, Order Management, WIP (including automation and tasking), CMDB and Operational management (Including Monitoring).
The primary role of the Project Manager will be to drive the delivery and project management of new development and change for the UK business supporting the rest of the business Systems team.
This project role can be organizationally complex, and you could be working with multiple stake-holders across Claranet UK on multiple projects at the same time, so we are looking for a PM that can manage multiple streams and who is flexible in approach.
We use a combination of Waterfall and Agile methods for project delivery and we are looking for a Project Manager who can work flexibly across methodologies and help us develop our approach further.
This post holder will be expected to demonstrate significant relevant experience in the successful project management and successful delivery of large-scale system implementation and/or migration projects.
This role is based in either Gloucester or London but travel to other UK locations will be required in line with project need.
Essential duties & responsibilities
Manage complex initiatives that span one or multiple lines of business
Full project life cycle ownership: successful project delivery will include full implementation from initiation to deployment of multiple initiatives simultaneously
Report on project success criteria results, metrics, budget, test and deployment management activities across multiple levels of business users
Prepare estimates and detailed project plan for all phases of the project
Manage the day-to-day project activities and resources and chairs the project team meetings
Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risks and issues, communicating across leadership
Manage project scope and changes
Assist in dispute, negotiation and risk mitigation as needed
Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel
Monitor, track and control outcomes to resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies and critical path deliverables
Deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations to various audiences, including project team, sponsors, SMT and key stakeholders
Deliver efficient communication across the business including stakeholders, SMT and end users.
Work with vendors and suppliers both internally and externally supporting and championing the success of the project to delivery on time and in budget.
Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand the business thoroughly, business requirements for the project, develop effective working relationships across the business.
Work with key teams and stakeholders to ensure project risks are identified quickly, managed, communicated and mitigated where possible
Ensure projects are delivered within the financial requirements and budget
Manage and change requests for Projects, gaining appropriate customer and internal approval and ensuring any additional costs are approved and charged
To ensure projects follow best industry standards such as ISO 9001, Prince 2 and ITIL V3.
Compile project reports including weekly project reports, end of stage review and lessons learned.
To ensure that all project deliverables are handed over to end users in a timely and effective manner.
Manage and deliver training supporting the transition to the new platform or platforms in line with the wider business needs.
5+ years’ experience in a related technology space
Good array of industry related experience, but experience in an IT Managed Services Provider would be most valuable.
Educated to degree level, or equivalent professional qualifications, experience.
Data cleansing and migration experience
Strong negotiating and influencing skills
Flexible, creating and innovative, willing to take considered risks
Ability to travel between Claranet offices as required
Previous experience delivering projects that involve the deployment of technical solutions impacting multiple teams and business processes.
Successful track record of project delivery: on time and to budget
Experience leading virtual project teams including technical and commercial personnel
Ability to engage with and persuade stakeholders at all levels within the business.
Previous experience working with external suppliers supporting the delivery of platform transformation and migration.
Knowledge of documentation requirements relating to project delivery
Good commercial awareness and financial management skills
Pro-active and needing minimal supervision
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Good working knowledge of MS Office tools, MS Project, MS Visio
Reliable and hardworking
In addition, the following are highly desirable:
Experience using different Project Methodologies such as Agile, SCRUM and Waterfall
Service Orientated Architectural (SOA) application delivery
ERP, CRM system implementation experience
Relevant Professional qualifications e.g. ITIL, Prince 2 or APMP
Commercially aware and strong financial acumen
The following would be considered advantageous in an applicant:
Knowledge of modern subscription-based billing systems
Previous experience managing projects based on large-scale SaaS platforms (e.g. ServiceNow, Salesforce)
Hands on experience as a user of Salesforce and or Service Now
