About the vacancy:
The School of Computing and Creative Technologies is a rapidly expanding School offering high quality undergraduate and postgraduate programmes which include Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering for Business, Data Science and Cyber Security. We offer a BSc in Cyber Security and Digital Forensics, an NCSC accredited MSc in Cyber Security, and a provisionally NCSC accredited Integrated degree apprenticeship taught at our partner Gloucester College in Cheltenham. We are recognised by NCSC as a Gold Academic Centre of Excellence in Cyber Security Education (ACE-CSE), and are the lead partner on the Unlock Cyber outreach project.
The School supports a growing and successful body of research in human computer interactions, smart cities, artificial intelligence, cyber security, data science and unconventional computing. The school has 130 academic staff and over 2,500 undergraduate and postgraduate students.
 
About you
You will have either a PhD in Cyber Security, Computer Science (or a closely related discipline), or else equivalent industry experience. Expertise in Digital Forensics is essential. Practical experience with commonly used digital forensic tools i.e. EnCase, Axiom, Cellebrite, XRY, X-ways would be extremely advantageous. Expertise in one or more of the following areas is desirable:
  • Risk Management
  • Incident Response
  • Security Data Analytics
  • Malware analysis
  • Penetration testing
  • Side-channels and embedded device security
The successful candidate will be able to adapt their teaching style to provide a supportive and inclusive learning experience for our students.
You will be capable of high-quality research, leading to journal and conference publications, have a clear plan for your future research direction and an awareness of research funding opportunities.
This post is based at our lively Frenchay campus where we have invested in the latest facilities and resources to give both our staff and students access to everything they need to succeed.

This is a permanent post, and is full-time-time working on a 1.0 FTE contract. This post is available on a job share basis for applicants wishing to work part time.
