Our Pensions Advisory business continues to grow and we are now looking for an experienced Data Analytics - Team Lead to join our vibrant Guildford office with hybrid working. This is a new and dynamic role and the ideal candidate will have excellent leadership skills, a proven delivery track record using effective Agile practices, and a strong technical background in data analytics.

The Role

The Team Lead will oversee the technical design and implementation of analytics solutions, ensure team efficiency through effective ways of working, and maintain high standards of data security and governance. This a leadership and management role, but the ideal candidate will have a background of successful hands-on build and be comfortable discussing complex technical concepts with the team.
  • Technical Design and Implementation:Lead the technical design and implementation of data analytics solutions in line with the Product Roadmap.
  • Efficiency:Maximise efficiency and productivity by implementing effective processes and best practices.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:Engage with stakeholders to understand their needs, provide regular updates, and gather feedback.
  • Quality:Foster a culture of quality within the team, ensuring all deliverables meet the highest standards.
  • Governance:Implement and oversee governance policies to ensure compliance and maintain data integrity.
  • Security:Ensure the security of data and analytics solutions, adhering to industry standards and regulations.
  • Team Development and Well-being:Foster a positive team environment, focusing on the development and well-being of team members.

Your profile

Essential Criteria
  • 3 Years’ leading small to medium sized teams of data engineers. analysts / data scientists and data reporting specialists.
  • Experience of Data engineering and wrangling using Azure Data Factory and Azure SQL.
  • Building, optimising, deploying, and managing machine learning models using AzureML.
  • Complex relational database query writing, performance tuning, and optimisation using Azure SQL.
  • Data modelling and visualisation of static reports, dynamic / interactive reports and dashboards using PowerBI or Tableau.
Other skills:
  • Strong leadership and team-building capabilities.
  • Strategic mindset with view to long-term quality and value delivery.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Technical expertise in analytics tools and technologies, e.g. Python, SQL, Azure.
  • Stakeholder engagement and expectation management.
  • Value-centric delivery of analytics products using Agile methodologies.
  • Developing and maintaining effective relationships to maximise collaboration throughout the wider business.
  • Data security and governance policy implementation.
