Job Description

Introduction

Our client is looking for a number of DevOps Engineers to work with Infrastructure and Development teams within a secure environment.

You will need to have experience working within National Security to be considered for this role.

This is a hybrid role with 3-4 days per week onsite in Manchester or Gloucester and the rest can be done remotely.

Key responsibilities
  • Deploy applications and software to cloud or on-prem environments.
  • Build and set up development tools and infrastructure.
  • Work with the stakeholders to understand their needs.
  • Automate and improve development and release processes.
  • Ensure that systems are safe and secure against cyber security threats.
  • Identify technical problems and develop software updates and solutions.
  • Work with other engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended.
Skills & experience
  • Experience working in a National Security environment within a similar role.
  • Demonstrable experience working with cloud technologies (AWS or Azure) as well as on-prem environments.
  • Infrastructure as code e.g. Terraform, Puppet, Chef, Ansible etc.
  • Experience in building and deploying large-scale applications in CI/CD pipelines.
  • Container platform and orchestration systems such as ECS, AKS, Kubernetes/helm/Docker.
  • Experience in automation and integration tools such as Jenkins, Concourse CI or cloud equivalents.
  • Experience in scripting languages and source control.
  • Agile/Scrum experience.
