What you’ll be doing:

The Lead Data role assists in defining and executing the organisation’s data strategy, ensuring efficient operations and delivering actionable insights. This includes overseeing data warehousing, managing inflight work, and driving strategic planning.

Responsibilities:

Data Strategy & Leadership:

• Develop and implement the organisations data vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Define best practices and standards for data management, architecture, and analytics.

Team Management

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data engineers, analysts, and scientists.
• Provide guidance and oversight to ensure high-quality data solutions and reporting.
• Manage team workload, priorities, and professional development.

Data Architecture & Engineering

• Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of scalable data pipelines and infrastructure.
• Ensure the reliability, efficiency, and performance of data storage and processing systems.
• Support the integration of data across multiple platforms and systems.

Analytics & Insights

• Provide leadership on data analysis, reporting, and dashboarding to support business decision-making.
• Ensure data models and reporting structures align with business needs.
• Work with stakeholders to define and deliver meaningful insights.

Governance & Compliance

• Ensure data integrity, quality, and security across all data systems.
• Implement and maintain compliance with relevant regulatory and industry standards.
• Enforce data governance policies and best practices.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

• Act as a key liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders.
• Translate business needs into data solutions that drive value.
• Promote a data-driven culture across the organisation.

Innovation & Optimisation

• Identify and implement opportunities for process automation and efficiency improvements.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance data capabilities.

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience leading in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong technical expertise in data engineering, analytics, and governance.
• Hands-on experience with modern data tools, cloud platforms, and programming languages.
• Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and align data initiatives with business strategy.
• Knowledge of data security, compliance, and governance best practices.
• Familiarity with data visualisation tools
• Familiarity with data modelling methodologies
