The Team

IQVIA Real-World & Analytics Solution (RWAS) teams work with clients worldwide to help them use complex, clinically rich, patient-level healthcare datasets to answer their specific research questions, make more informed decisions, and deliver results. We are collaborative, intellectually curious, entrepreneurial, and constantly looking for opportunities to harness the value of Real-World Evidence (RWE) in a constantly evolving industry.

Specifically, you will be working in the RWAS Enriched Studies Development Team. The RWAS Enriched Studies Development Team is responsible for advancing the IQVIA capabilities to deliver Enriched Studies through targeted internal investment activities, client business development and oversight for study delivery. Enriched Studies integrate two methods of data collection (primary and secondary) to build a comprehensive patient record and increase both the availability and depth of researchable data. Enriched Studies are innovative in their use of secondary data (e.g. electronic medical records, health claims) and provide a number of benefits to our clients.  Enriched Studies are typically deployed as a method for delivering observational studies, although are also being explored for delivering clinical trials as well.  The content area of the team encompasses a broad range of activities related to Enriched Studies:

  • Geographic data source and technical assessments to support capability expansion.
  • Enhancing data management and analysis capabilities of both primary collected information and existing databases.
  • Proactive business development, including development of proposals.
  • Supporting multi-country study delivery.
  • Development of standard processes.
  • Technical enablement of our study delivery

Role

We are looking for a Business Analyst who will support the Enriched Studies investment and technical initiatives focusing on business requirements documentation, test plan documentation and execution, and general analytical support.

As a Business Analyst you will join a high profile, talented and fast paced team supporting the technical enablement of the delivery of Enriched Studies. You must thrive in a collaborative environment where you can liaise with business functions, Enriched and technical teams in developing business process flows and translate into technical requirements.  Assignments will range in complexity and may require working across business units. The successful candidate will be able to achieve professional development and learning, which includes skills specific training courses as well as on-the-job training.  

Our ideal candidate is someone who has demonstrated success in a business analyst role producing effective detailed requirements documentation, traceable test plans.  We have a strong entrepreneurial culture, and seek an individual who can excel in a growth-oriented, global business. The role is a global role but based out of the UK office. 

Principal Accountabilities

  • Elicit, analyze, validate, specify, and verify business requirements for initiatives involving healthcare data and technology
  • Create Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) and traceable test plans
  • Collaborate with supervisor, subject matter experts, product owners to find the best approaches to address requirements
  • Define and document business processes
  • Conduct and/or synthesize market research
  • Track issues and resolution
  • Liaise with the Technical teams and business stakeholders in translating business requirements into technical requirements following the Agile Scrum methodology
  • Support testing as a proxy for business and analytical customers when needed.
  • Work independently and collaboratively as required
  • Support business case development
  • Provide project management office support to the Project Management Office Lead in the design and execution of the Enriched Studies investment strategy as directed, e.g. tracking resource assignments, reviewing project documentation, tracking project progress and completing project reports.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated success in preparing business requirements documentation for healthcare related projects
  • Mastery of MS Office tools 
  • Understanding of Software Development Lifecycles (SDLC)
  • Experience working closely with project managers
  • Exposure to healthcare data (i.e. claims, EMR, longitudinal prescriptions) desired
  • Sound analytic, problem solving, and quantitative skills
  • Strong desire to learn
  • Effective oral, written and communication skills
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple activities with changing priorities simultaneously
  • Knowledge of the healthcare industry landscape, including bio-pharma
  • Proven team player; strong relationship building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in global roles; understand cultural sensitivities and time zones preferred
  • Experience in Agile Scrum methodology an advantage, but not mandatory

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in an analyst role in healthcare, healthcare technology, or big data sector
  • Some project management experience or training is desired, but not essential
