Full time Data Science Data Engineering Big Data Statistics

Job Description

Imagine if life had its own navigation system. One that lets you see exactly where you are today and where you want to be. One that helps you and your family find your way. With Unbiased, you can manage all of life’s biggest decisions in one place. Find the experts to support you at every step, see what’s on the horizon, plan ahead and be ready for the unexpected. By mapping out your choices and giving you full control, Unbiased enables you to set your own destination.

We have big ambitions to improve how people tackle the biggest decisions, and working at Unbiased means working with intelligent, motivated people who believe in this.

The Role

As Unbiased grows, we have recognised that our data capability will be key in accelerating growth.

We need the ability to improve the business through fast paced data based decision making and to spend more time analyzing data than generating reports. Success in your role will be defined by the business having rich data available to drive business performance and decision making.

Practically this means creating a Data Warehouse and the Business Intelligence tooling that makes the data accessible and meaningful for the business. We are in the process of migrating our core systems to Google Cloud Platform so are looking to use Google Big Query and a Business Intelligence tool such as Tableau.

You will need to be skilled at designing, implementing, and operating stable, scalable, low cost solutions to flow data from production systems into the data warehouse and into end-user facing applications and vice versa. This is an individual contributor role that will partner with internal stakeholders across multiple teams, gathering requirements and delivering complete solutions. If you are looking for an environment where you will have the opportunity to have autonomy in your role and not be micromanaged then Unbiased is the place for you!

To succeed, you will ideally have…
  • 4 plus years' relevant experience in a data engineering role or working within database engineering/warehousing, business intelligence or business analytics
  • Exposure to large complex datasets and datasets and engineering data pipelines from different sources and formats
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) ecosystem and hands-on knowledge working with cloud related technologies
  • Demonstrated strength in data modelling, ETL development and data warehousing
  • Deep hands-on knowledge in using advanced SQL queries, experience in writing and optimising efficient SQL queries
  • Experience in BI projects converting business needs to data warehousing and reporting solutions
  • Experience maintaining programs and data pipelines to support data visualisation tools
