Your role in the team
The Strategy and Planning Manager will report into the Head of Strategy and Planning for Sportsbook here at William Hill and will work closely with senior colleagues across Sportsbook, and supporting teams such as Propositions and Marketing, to create and manage the long term planning for Sportsbook. The role holder will be responsible for setting objectives, defining strategies and ensuring the successful delivery and execution of campaigns and events.
This is a high profile and visible role which will suit an experienced leader with a collaborative and inclusive approach to planning. Successfully forging and maintaining multiple strong relationships across William Hill, you will ensure clarity, engagement and commitment to the process, creating positive outcomes for our customers and our business.
You'll be responsible for the long term planning of the propositions roadmap and leading the Quarterly and Tier 1-3 planning processes for Sportsbook - clearly defining objectives that deliver the strategy and drive actives, turnover and net revenue growth. You will have ownership of the plans and will ensure they are created, maintained and delivered to the highest standard.
With a comprehensive understanding of the whole business, your role will be to create alignment and synergy across Sportsbook and wider supporting functions. You will drive the delivery, create clear objectives and use insight into our customers and data to ensure the plans and roadmaps deliver a first class customer experience and meet our commercial goals.

This is a strategic role which requires commercial acumen and you'll develop a comprehensive understanding of what drives customers behaviour and adds value. You'll work closely with the Proposition team to analyse KPIs, identify areas of under and over performance and identify marketing activity to compensate or maximize. You will use your knowledge and understanding of the bigger picture to guide, support and sometime challenges peers and stakeholders to achieve the right results and deliver against the plan.
Not only are you a planner but also a trusted business partner to your stakeholders, able to influence, engage and lead when required. Timely and accurate communications will be key to the success of this role.
You'll be an experienced Planning Manager who can keep everyone aligned and on track, used to leading projects and campaigns and with a Commercial, Marketing or Campaign background, you will ideally have experience in online betting. You’ll have a genuine interest in online customer lifecycles, and you understand the processes by which to manage them. Inquisitive and analytical, you’ll have the ability to create, implement and follow effective processes to deliver flawless customer experiences.
You'll be confident working at pace, often on multiple projects and be comfortable working, at times, in a fast moving and changing industry. Ideally, you will have a track record of managing projects in a complex, matrix organisation.
A superb communicator, your organisational skills will be exemplary, with excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal skills to engage and provide clear communication to your stakeholders. You'll be able to tell the story behind the data and plans, able to influence and engage at a senior level and create a clear vision for success. You will be comfortable taking the lead, challenging where necessary and working with stakeholders to ensure we get aligned results in the right way.
You will take a data driven approach to all key business decisions and be used to taking a helicopter view as well as understanding the detail to inform your judgements and decisions. Highly numerical and analytical, you will have experience of not only delivering plans, but analysing results and building insights for future learning.
