The role
This is an excellent opportunity to work in an interdisciplinary environment where biomedical sciences intersect with clinical applications and to contribute to transforming the way information from whole genome sequencing is harnessed for the benefit of patients.
Responsibilities will include:

• Supported by a mentor/project manager, apply statistics and machine learning techniques to interpret DNA sequence datasets.
• Develop software in a variety of computer languages including C++, R and Python.
• Work as part of a friendly and multi-disciplinary team to meet shared goals.
• Deliver timely results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

• Prepare and present a final report on your findings.

Preferred Background, Qualifications and Requirements:

• Currently studying for a bachelor’s, master’s or Ph.D. in computer science, bioinformatics or a scientific course which has included modules in bioinformatics, data analysis or computer science.
• An interest in genomics and clinical applications of genome sequencing.
• Some experience in a programming language such as C++, Python or R, ideally gained during a project, employment or self-study.
• Experience in next generation sequencing data analysis is advantageous.
