The way we look at Databases is changing.
The days of separate teams managing stand-alone databases are numbered.
In this world we call DevOps, You Database guys will be right in the thick of it.
You'll embrace the opportunity to sit inside production teams, advising Developers on how to best integrate the database into the wider platform. The new focus will be on performance optimisation, integration and security. Where you'll be sat alongside the wider engineering team, Your AWS experience will be essential. Not only will you be managing the Cloud databases with AWS and Aurora, you'll be integral to insuring its place within the wider platform. You'll be desperate to reduce inefficiency and make sure you're making the best possible use of the data, whilst also being responsible for Data modelling decisions. Any experience you have with automation tools would be a bonus, as would any experience working within a Ruby environment.
From a purely Data perspective, your experience across Maria DB, MYSQL and AWS RDS will be key as you look to drive the project forward. This is an opportunity to become the point of reference across the engineering function. You'll be a key contributor on not only technical decisions, but what direction they move in.
What's in it for you? You'll get to join a modern team determined to disrupt an established industry. This is a tech first company, where you'll always be able to choose the best technical solution to the problem. If you're after a chance to become an SME on AWS Databases, then look no further.
