We are looking for a data scientist that will help us discover the information hidden in vast amounts of data and help us make smarter decisions to deliver even better support services and experiences. Your primary focus will be in applying data mining techniques, doing statistical analysis, and building high quality prediction systems integrated within our tool infrastructure to help understand our support & success services’ performance, determine reasons for performance levels and build models that help predict or pre-empt actions to move AVEVA GCS to a highly productive, data-led support & success organization.

Example of expected deliverables contains but not limited to:

  • Data mining for delivering insights to customers that they can use to improve their operations or buy more from us.
  • Trends that determine what materials could be sent to our customers during their journey.
  • Trends that help identify customers who are ready for an upsell-cross sell conversation.
  • Development of health score algorithms by product/technology/offering/customer types.
  • Development of performance levels for support services

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of our Support/Success and it’s CX intelligence as a lead scientist creating models, selecting features, building and optimizing classifiers using deep data analysis and machine learning techniques
  • Lead the development of data mining using state-of-the-art methods, extending company’s data with third party sources of information when needed and enhancing data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems
  • Processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis
  • Support or lead the creation of core analytical profiles including, automate scoring using machine learning techniques, build recommendation systems, improve and extend the features used by our existing analytics systems, develop internal A/B testing procedures.
  • Doing ad-hoc analysis and presenting results in a clear manner

Skills & Qualifications

  • 10+ years’ experience in data science, statistical analysis or a relevant discipline
  • Experience with common data science toolkits, such as R, Weka, NumPy, Python, MatLab, etc.
  • Experience with core visualization tools, such as Salesforce Einstein, Microsoft PowerBI, Tableau, QLIK etc.
  • Proficiency in using query languages such as SQL.

o Experienced with MS SQL and Azure SQL database technologies.
o Exposure to others such as MySQL, Oracle beneficial.

  • Good applied statistics skills, such as distributions, statistical testing, regression, etc.
  • Data-oriented personality
  • Exceptional result-oriented mindset and track record
  • Strong communication style and able to communicate effective to multiple stakeholders
  • Strong execution focus and ability to manage ambiguity with tenacity and diligence in driving programmes forward
  • Ability to build consensus and manage diverse, group-wide stakeholders through influence (not control) with excellent Stakeholder Management and Impact at all levels

Beneficial Skills and Qualifications:

  • BS/BA Degree; Engineering degree and/or MBA a plus
