Job Description

We are looking for a Data Engineer to join our Architecture and Data team within our ICT function in Birmingham.
The role
As a Data Engineer you will build, maintain, load and operate existing and new data models to support our strategic, regulatory and operational needs.
Reporting to the Data Architect, you will be a good communicator who is comfortable discussing designs and solutions, with all levels of the organisation. You will maintain data models and efficiently bulk load and accurately manipulate data within them. You will be comfortable using Microsoft Azure Analysis Services / SQL / Synapse Analytics (formerly known as Data Warehouse) / Power BI.
Working collaboratively and building relationships with the other teams and individuals within the organisation is important as we develop our service and implement technical solutions. You will use your creativity to overcome challenges and your experience and intuition to problem solve.
You will have a good understanding of data modelling, data manipulation and data warehouses, with a drive to continually improve your knowledge.

What we are looking for

  • Enthusiasm to work with multiple teams and projects to manipulate data to help the business achieve its goals.
  • Azure Analysis Services / SQL / Synapse Analytics (a.k.a. Data Warehouse) / Power BI
  • Ability to work collaboratively to implement technical solutions.
  • Good understanding of data modelling, data manipulation and data warehouses
  • Dynamics 365 CRM (CE) and Finance / KingswaySoft / Azure Data Factory / Azure DevOps (desirable)
