The role of the Data Analytics Engineer is to continually drive the vision of a “data driven business” and provide the necessary insights, recommend actions and measure outcomes across all wejo business verticals.
Where appropriate, the Data Analytics Engineer will be responsible for building the necessary visualisation & reports to help shape the conversation.
A prerequisite for everyone working in Wejo is a high level of personal resilience and the ability to manage changing priorities and complexity well.
Key Responsibilities – what I do mostly*
Support the business with the organization of, and understanding of, its data trends
Write queries and organize the data received to format it ready for use
Contribute to the wejo commercial data strategy through the insight you produce
Produce daily MI reports for both internal and external stakeholders
Cleansing the data received to identify and investigate and erroneous data collection
Work closely with both the commercial and IT teams to ensure continued quality of data stream received

Identify trends that enable you to create models to estimate future scenarios
Check data quality control standards
Recognize and define opportunities for process improvements
Help to develop data products and help determine the feasibility of new areas of data analysis.
define requirements for both the MI data architecture and the underlying MI infrastructure in order to support current and future data products
Ensuring a professional image of the company and themselves is presented at all times

Essential Skills / Knowledge & Experience – what I need to do the job*

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proven working experience as a data analyst for at least 3 years
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages/visualizations tools
  • Experience in using relational databases or non-relational for accessing and sourcing data
  • Experience Collaborate with cross functional teams on data support solutions for new projects
  • Excellent communicator
  • Desirable – what will help me to succeed
  • Experience in automotive, telematics, insurance industry
  • Experience of working with extremely large volume datasets and relevant technology
  • Experience of engineering transformations into data lake, warehouse
  • Experience of applying Data Science techniques for analysing large dataset
