Role Summary

The Machine Learning Engineer at Telmar will provide expertise to manage AI and data science features projects over their full lifecycle. The Machine learning engineer provides assistance to define product roadmaps, analyze data science solutions to develop new products, and improve current Machine Learning solutions. They provide direction to build an efficient Machine Learning architecture that will enable world leading solutions to be shipped to customers in an efficient manner. Finally, they will help build and maintain AI and data pipelines, deploy them at scale and manage their cost efficiency.

Our engineers work as a team and are responsible for the entire end-to-end process, from research to production. The Machine Learning engineer will provide guidance to his fellow engineers and help them grow professionally. They will also work on recruiting talent to help build a passionate Machine Learning team.

The ideal candidate is a Machine Learning Engineer with hands-on experience, solution oriented and with a passion about machine learning, data analytics, and big data technologies.

Professional Skills

  • Master's degree or above in computer science or software/computer/IT engineering fields or equivalent experience (MOOCs)
  • 5 years of work experience in Machine Learning.
  • Mastery of Python and the PyData stack (pandas, numpy, scikit-learn...) and other ML tools (MLFlow, Metaflow, PyTorch)
  • Mastery of classical machine learning algorithms for clustering, classification, regression, data preprocessing.
  • Experience with AWS or other cloud services to build machine learning delivery systems.
  • Experience of SQL and NoSQL databases (PrestoDB, RDS, MongoDB, ...)
  • Experience with Continuous integration (CircleCI/github actions, Docker, python testing tools)
  • Knowledge of serverless architectures (Lambda, StepFunctions, Athena, Kinesis, Glue...).
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good english level (C1, C2)

The following experience will be particularly advantageous:

  • Experience with pyspark
  • Experience with other scripting languages such as bash, Makefile.
  • Experience in task parallelization (local multiprocessing or distributed systems)
  • Effective time management, including planning and project management tasks
  • Contributor or owner of GitHub repositories
