This is an exciting opportunity to join the Value Based Healthcare Team in Swansea Bay University Health Board as an Apprentice Data Analyst.
The post holder, under supervision and following appropriate training, will provide support to the Value Based Healthcare Team in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.
The apprentice will be expected to work towards a level 4 Diploma in Data Analytics through Gower College Swansea. They will receive training and ongoing support to enable them to use the systems and processes required to undertake the role and successfully complete their apprenticeship.
This post is for a fixed term of 24 months whilst the Diploma level 4 qualification is attained.

Year 1 - 70% of Band 4 Salary - £15,784
Year 2 - 75% of Band 4 Salary - £16,912
Whilst studying for a level 4 Diploma in Data Analytics through Gower College Swansea, the Apprentice Data Analyst will assist the Advanced Information Analyst in supporting the Value Based Healthcare (team of 7) to ensure the effective running of the VBHC programmes.
The post holder will support the Transformation Team within Swansea Bay University Health Board (SBUHB) and in particular will support the Value Based Healthcare (VBHC) function within SBUHB. The remit of this post is to turn health and hospital data and information into intelligence that underpins the work of the Transformation team in supporting the provision of high quality health and care services for their customers.
Under supervision of the Advanced Information Analyst, the post holder will be involved in the creation and maintenance of a range of online patient health questionnaires. The post holder will assist with data extraction from each different patient health questionnaire, and then help with the extract, transform & load (ETL) process to centralise all the data collected. The post holder will also assist in analysing the collected data, and updating existing reports and visualisations.
The post holder will primarily work with web-based applications for survey design and distribution, MS Excel, Microsoft SQL Server and Power BI.
The post holder may also be involved in supporting other aspects of the VBHC Team’s work programme, as required.
