Overview:
We are now looking for an eager candidate to join us as a Business Intelligence Analyst within our Business Intelligence team helping to deliver performance data and insights to police officers and staff primarily using Power BI. The role is currently operating in a hybrid manner with days in the office and days working at home.
In this role you will use and continue to develop analytical and technical skills to enable you to support service users to make effective use of business intelligence reporting and data visualisation tools. Your work will provide data and insights supporting operational activity through the development of information solutions, visual application development and data reporting processes.
Main responsibilities:
- To work within a team supporting the design, development and maintenance of business intelligence.
- To develop and deliver data visualisations, analytics and informatics in Power BI.
- To support the Constabulary through the provision of technical infrastructure to enable effective reporting and key products that support research, intelligence and operational capabilities and requirements.
- Identify internal and external customer requirements, agree relevant scope / terms of reference and co-ordinate the delivery of business intelligence products
- To be a point of contact and subject matter expert for Power BI, in respect of the development of tools to enable the organisation to improve performance and problem solve.
- Ensure that all use and release of information is in accordance with the Data Protection Act and relevant Information Sharing Agreements. Take responsibility for the security and accuracy of information used.
Experience:
- Experience of building reports and visualisations in Power BI or a similar system.
- Experience of DAX, R, M or similar.
- Experience of programming languages such as SQL (desirable).
- Defining and developing customer requirements.
- Problem solving and solution development.
- Data collection and data management.
- Strong verbal and interpersonal skills, which enable effective communication.
- The drive and enthusiasm to continually professionally develop.
