The Building Construction Products (BCP) division team is comprised of more than 7,000 employees - from assemblers and accountants to marketing professionals and engineers - we work in factories, warehouses, and offices all over the world.
We are responsible for the design, manufacturing, marketing and support of Caterpillar’s line of small, versatile construction machines and attachments for the commercial construction, residential construction, specialty trades, landscaping and agriculture industries. Products include small wheel loaders, compact wheel loaders, backhoe loaders, compact track loaders, mini hydraulic excavators, skid steer loaders, telehandlers, small track-type tractors, and utility vehicles.

What is the role?
As a member of the BCP Desford Quality team primarily based in Desford Leicestershire, you will be working as part of a highly focused and driven team of Quality Analysts. The projects and activities you will be involved with concern new “growth” areas such as new product introduction, value-adding manufacturing solutions, production and efficiency optimisation, waste reduction, and product qualification. You’ll become knowledgeable about our developing technologies, the quality systems that surround our manufacturing processes and learn to work with people at all levels of the organisation and across our global manufacturing facilities. This multifaceted role is within the Quality department working on factory data capture systems and analysis.
This data analyst apprenticeship is designed to develop your skills in data analytics, programming, database design and understand the criticality of computer ethics.
Data science combines maths and statistics skills with programming skills - to analyse data with the aim of providing insights that inform business decisions and improvements. In your role as a, Apprentice Data Analyst in the Quality Digital Operations group, your duties might include:
Creating, maintaining, and monitoring information systems to ensure conformance to internal requirements
Creating digital solutions to improve auditing function, data management and reporting through automated IT Applications (Power BI, Power Apps etc)
Summarise and present the results of data analysis to a range of stakeholders, making recommendations
Ensuring optimal computer ethics in all your work, adhering to all relevant legislations such as GDPR and respecting and protecting any sensitive information you gain access to as a part of your role
Complete Level 4 data analysis apprenticeship to a high standard, engaging with the learning to ensure skills and knowledge is maximised within your role
Complete 6 Sigma Green Belt
Who are we looking for?
You should be able to demonstrate teamwork, have strong communication skills that can be applied to all levels of the business, be self-motivated and be excited by the thought of learning new skills and working collaboratively with colleagues from across the Desford facility as well as the wider BCP global footprint.
To join us on a Level 4 Apprenticeship (England) you should:
Have five GCSEs or Scottish National 5s at A*-C or 9-4 grade (or equivalent), including English and Maths
Have, or be on track for, at least three A-Levels at grades B, C, C or above (England) OR four Highers at grades B, B, B, C or above (Scotland) or a Level 3 equivalent. If one of these subjects is in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths) subject that’s great, but it is not a requirement!
NOTE: You can apply with predicted grades. If you’re successful at the interview stage, the job offer will be conditional on you achieving the required grades before September.
