Core Responsibilities

We're looking for an incredible leader to head up our Marketing Effectiveness Data Science team within our Data Office. As part of this role, you will:
  • Lead the Data Science work to optimise the marketing and promotional spend across the LEGO Group.
  • Set the direction and lead multiple data science products across different partner areas which add repeatable value to the business.
  • Be responsible for business partners management and championing a data-driven culture within their areas.
  • Be an active member of the Data Science Products Leadership Team.
  • Ensure close working relationships with the rest of the Data Science Products team and the wider Data Office.
  • Manage and develop an international and diverse successful team of Data Scientists, based both in the UK and other countries.

The role of the Data Office is to drive value from data across the LEGO Group. Our team builds and runs our central Data Platform, and is a Centre of Excellence for data science, machine learning and artificial intelligence.
In addition, the Data Office is the hub of a community of data practitioners across our company. We promote data literacy, ethics and good governance, and are ambassadors for the responsible use of data to drive growth.
We have a strong ambition to become a truly data-driven company so this role offers a lot of opportunity to bring impact, influence and set a strategic direction.

Do you have what it takes?

Ideally you will have a relevant degree with experience working with Marketing Effectiveness models (Marketing Mix Models, attribution etc) and data while leading change within Marketing teams. In addition, you will have:
  • Proven track record of driving value through multiple parallel data science projects end to end, from ideation to objective formulation and implementation.
  • Experience with data science technology (eg Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Python, RStudio, Shiny).
  • Experienced in several data science disciplines (Machine Learning, Natural Language Processes, Artificial Intelligence).
  • Experience with leading teams and developing products working in an agile environment.
  • Have good communication and influencing skills at all levels of the organisation.
Nice to have:
  • A history of working with Pricing, Promotional Effectiveness or Assortment models and data.
