As part of this programme, we wish to appoint a researcher to develop and implement innovative data analytics, artificial intelligence and machine learning approaches for efficient control and predictive behaviour modelling of future manufacturing systems. The successful candidate will specifically contribute to the EPSRC Elastic Manufacturing Systems project and the Made Smarter Innovation Research Centre for Connected Factories, working closely with researchers from our partners at Cambridge and Sheffield universities and collaborating with leading industrial partners including Airbus, BAE Systems, BMW, Nestlé and Siemens.This is an opportunity to join a world leading research team in Digital Manufacturing, Robotics and Factory Automation as part of the Institute for Advanced Manufacturing. Our current project portfolio is specifically focussed on developing new concepts for future smart manufacturing systems and distributed connected factories.

This post is available immediately and offered on fixed term contract of 24 months, the latest start date would be 30 Sept 2022. Hours of work are full time (36.25 hours); however, applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work a minimum 29 hours per week.
