Job Description

Are you interested in helping to take Oxford’s digital research to the next level? Are you an expert in textual encoding and digital editing? The Digital Scholarship @ Oxford initiative needs you.
An opening is available to join a growing group of Research Software Engineers (RSEs) based at the University. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for software looking to use their skills to make an impact on research projects across the whole of the University of Oxford.
You will be an expert in information engineering and computer science, and related fields, as reflected in your work experience or by holding a PhD/DPhil in these subjects or related fields. You will have practical experience of creating software solutions to solve research problems in the field of textual editing (especially TEI and other .XML formats).

If, for any reason, you have taken a career break or have had an atypical career and wish to disclose this in your application, the selection committee will take this into account. The selection committee will also be mindful of the impact that the Covid-19 pandemic may have had on candidates’ careers as a result of additional caring responsibilities or other factors.
