We are looking for an analyst to join the Public Health Intelligence Team at East Sussex County Council.

Public health is about helping people and communities to stay healthy, protecting them from risks to health and most importantly reducing inequality in health outcomes. The East Sussex County Council Public Health Team has specialist expertise to identify local need and use the latest evidence to undertake its responsibility for improving and protecting population health across the county. This role will be working within the Public Health Intelligence Team to help provide high quality data management and analysis skills to support the work of the department, county council and wider health and care system.

East Sussex Public Health are based at County Hall in Lewes and there will be a requirement to work in-person for some of the time, and the technology is also in place to enable remote working.

Educated to degree level or equivalent (QCF level 6) in a subject reflecting strong numeracy skills is essential. Experience of analysing and interpreting data is also essential.

We’re particularly looking for candidates with skills and experience in producing and maintaining dashboards using tools like Excel, Tableau and Power-BI. Skills with programming languages, such as R and Python, will also be helpful as we look to improve our capabilities in the team using these tools.

Additional Information

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.

Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
