Position Summary
The Business Intelligence Developer II is a key role responsible for development of analytical and data solutions for STERIS internal stakeholders and external Customers. The deliverables from this role provide stakeholders required data assets to quantify business performance and make strategic decisions. This includes design, implementation, documentation, testing and support of solutions requiring data aggregation from multiple sources into an efficient reporting mechanism, database/data warehouse development and report/dashboard development using appropriate tools.
The position also requires staying abreast with changes in technology, programming languages, and software development tools.
The role also requires direct or indirect interaction with other team members and business users to understand issues, gather requirements and coordinate testing. Participation in team and / or project meetings to schedule work and discuss status will be required.
Duties
- Understand and translate business requirements into technical specifications
- Datawarehouse development and maintenance, including data modeling/data engineering
- Extract Transform Load (ETL)/Extract Load Transform (ELT) data pipeline development and maintenance
- Identify and resolve data quality/integrity issues
- Design and build BI and Analytics solutions including Reports and Dashboards
- Troubleshoot BI and Analytics tools, systems and software; performance-tune applications as necessary
- Test and document all new or modified BI systems, applications and programs
- Evaluate and improve existing BI and Analytics tools, systems and software
- Work with technical team to migrate programs to Production

Education Degree
- Bachelor's Degree
Required Experience
- Data Warehouse analysis and implementation experience. (4+ years)
- In-depth understanding of relational database structures, theories, principles, and practices. (4+ years)
- Strong skills in coding, troubleshooting, tuning and debugging (4+ years)
- Experience in relational databases and dimensional data modelling. (4+ years)
- Data pipeline development (ETL/ELT). (4+ years)
- Proven T-SQL development skills (Microsoft SQL Server 2016+). (4+ years)
- Experience in modern BI and Analytics technologies (e.g. Tableau, Cognos, etc.) . (4+ years)
- Experience in DevOps and software development life. (4+ years)
- Experience with Cloud computing environments (e.g. Microsoft Azure) . (2+ years)
- Experience with Data Engineering and modern Data Warehouse technologies (e.g. Snowflake, Azure SQL Database) . (2+ years)
- Familiarity with programing languages (e.g. .Net, PowerShell, Python) . (2+ years)
- Strong statistical background. (2+ years)
