Graduate DevOps Engineer

Salary: £25,457 to £28,285

Location: Kings Cross, London

Contract: Fixed Term Contract (24 months)

Working Pattern: Full Time, 35 hours per week - Monday to Friday

DevOps is for people who love to learn and tackle complex ideas. If you are interested in joining an innovative and pioneering organisation, then we would love to hear from you.

Main Responsibility

Notting Hill Genesis have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate DevOps Engineer to join our team. This is a superb route into the world of DevOps and Cloud Engineering and a fantastic time to join us as we strive to become a leader in digital technology.

We have embarked on an exciting digital transformation journey and have adopted the latest Microsoft technical stack (i.e., Azure, Microsoft Power Platform, Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365) to develop an innovative digital platform.

This role will see you work on cutting edge software projects using the latest technologies. As part of an agile cross-functional team you will work in a collaborative way and play a key role in each phase of the software deployment lifecycle.

You will be part of our DevOps team working alongside other DevOps to support the design, development and in some cases own the automated deployment, maintenance and monitoring of our PaaS and SaaS products.

The Ideal Candidate

We will make sure you are ready and confident to fulfil the duties of your role. Our training and guidance will help provide you with an in-depth knowledge of the technical tools and skills you'll need to succeed in your career.

This is a key hire for NHG. We are looking for an individual who is passionate and enthusiastic about technology and is keen to learn new tools and technologies.

We are seeking a team player and a passionate collaborator with a focus on what is best for the team. You will be enthusiastic about problem solving and happy to get stuck in with ideas. You will possess excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to liaise with a wide range of individuals.

You will have a clear focus on the customer (both internal and external) with a view to ensure that the work we do meets the expectations of the business and our customers.

We are seeking someone with a Computer Science degree, engineering or related STEM subject qualification. You will have foundational development/ scripting skills (e.g. PowerShell, Bash, .NET) and understand software configuration and deployment methodologies using DevOps. We work in an Agile environment so an understanding of agile methodology would be highly useful.

Our culture of innovation means your ideas and enthusiasm on how to improve our service will be welcomed. If this sounds like you, then we would love to hear from you.

In return we offer a competitive salary, generous annual leave, health cash plan, season ticket loan, life assurance and a generous contributory pension offer as well as other benefits packages.

In return we offer:

  • Excellent annual leave allowance and flexible working opportunities (qualifying period may apply)
  • Generous pension scheme
  • Enhanced maternity, paternity and adoption pay - we offer enhanced maternity and adoption pay in addition to statutory entitlements (qualifying period may apply)
  • Employee assistance - free confidential advice and counselling services provided by independent specialist organisations
  • Health cash plan
  • Staff discounts - we give our staff access to discounts at hundreds of major retailers, gyms, restaurants, entertainment, days out, insurance and much more
  • Interest free loans: season ticket loan, tenancy deposit loan and training loan
  • Cycle to work scheme

About the Company

Notting Hill Genesis is now one of the largest housing associations in London and the south east. We own and manage more than 66,000 homes and employ around 2,000 staff. We provide homes across a range of tenures and are committed to continuing to deliver housing that is affordable to all. Our roots reach back to the 1960s when our legacy organisations were established by local people who shared a similar vision – to house west London’s working poor, providing them a home from which to build themselves and their families a secure future.

Our people

We value our people and both respect and celebrate their differences. We’re proud to say that our colleagues come from different backgrounds, with varied outlooks and are from all over the world. We encourage and are committed to diversity. We know that when people with varied experiences and unique points of view come together, it makes us a stronger organisation and more able to help the wide range of residents that we serve. We want all our colleagues to bring their full selves to work in a culture and environment based on respect and fairness, regardless of role, background or ability.

Our pledges

We are proud signatories of the G15 group’s diversity pledge to encourage more diversity in the boardroom and at senior level. The pledge on Black, Asian and minority ethnic diversity commits NHG to reflect the ethnic diversity of the communities we work in at all levels and particularly at senior managerial, leadership and board levels.

We have under-representation of Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic colleagues at this level and are keen to fill this gap. We welcome applications from everyone. For this role, we especially encourage Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic candidates to join us and be part of an inclusive culture that celebrates diversity, equality of opportunity and provides a place for you to grow your career.

We are also a Stonewall Diversity Champion, a Disability Confident employer and have signed up to Harry’s Pledge. We actively monitor the diversity of our workforce and strive to show equal representation throughout all levels of the organisation.
