Fortray Global Services Ltd is seeking a Data Analyst for a role based in Glasgow, UK. The ideal candidate will have 2–5 years of relevant experience as a Data Analyst, must be authorized to work in the UK, and be a C2 Certified. This is a full-time, 1-year extendible B2B contract.
Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Data Analyst to support data-driven decision-making across the organisation. You will work closely with business, operations, product, marketing, finance, and technology teams to turn complex data into actionable insights, reports, and dashboards.The ideal candidate has strong analytical thinking, solid technical skills, and the ability to clearly communicate insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, clean, validate, and analyse data from multiple internal and external sources
- Perform exploratory and ad-hoc analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights
- Analyse KPIs, performance metrics, and operational data
- Design, build, and maintain dashboards and reports using BI tools
- Automate recurring reports and improve reporting efficiency
- Monitor key metrics and proactively highlight risks or changes
- Translate data findings into clear, actionable recommendations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on analytics initiatives
- Maintain documentation for data sources, metrics, and definitions
- Support data governance and best practices
Required Skills & Experience
- 2–5+ years’ experience in a Data Analyst or analytics-focused role
- Strong SQL skills for data extraction and analysis
- Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills
- Hands-on experience with Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar BI tools
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities
- Excellent communication skills for non-technical audiences
- High attention to detail and data accuracy
Preferred / Advantageous
- Experience with Python or R
- Knowledge of statistics and basic predictive analytics
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Azure Synapse)
- Understanding of ETL processes and data warehousing
- Experience in domains such as Finance, Healthcare, Marketing, SaaS, or Product Analytics
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Business, or related field
- Equivalent professional experience will be considered
